Gold Key – Restaurant Casual Dining
The Highlights: Inspired by humble beginnings, this project turns back the clock to the city’s origins—Bytown and the booming Ottawa River timber trade dating back to the 19th century. The design of the 75-seat restaurant shows a subtle interplay between simple and refined, bold and understated, modern and a touch of nostalgia. Craftsmanship and artistry appear in the custom-built furniture and millwork. The central seating area is anchored by an architectural wood structure that wraps up, over, and cantilevers outward and serves as the restaurant’s backbone.
