Gold Key – Specialty Design
The Highlights: Designers had to overcome the challenge of a funky layout, with the residential building’s amenities located on different floors or opposite sides. To contend with these limitations, heavy emphasis was placed on strong, bold patterns in the elevator lobbies and cabs to tie spaces together. The solution took some out-of-the-(elevator)-box thinking. The team used lighting techniques, designed 3D walls in rich finishes, and mirrored the floor design onto the ceiling to create interest and break up the long, narrow spaces.
