BDNY Exhibitors

By Alicia Hoisington

We were not able to gather in person this year, so we rounded up a variety of innovative offerings from a diverse set of exhibitors we’re excited to see on the fair floor next year. Make sure to save the date for BDNY 2021, November 14-15 at the Javits Center in New York.

House of Rohl |

Designed by Alessandro Veralli, Eclissi is inspired by the perfect alignment of two planetary objects during an eclipse—the bath collection’s Italian namesake. Forged in Italy, the infinite handle design with inner and outer circles provides a harmonious aesthetic that is offered in a variety of finishes.

Infinity Drain |

The Stainless Steel Shower Base is guaranteed for life against waterproofing failure. Available sizes include a 60-by-30-inch option as well as custom sizing for quantities of 10 or more. Because it is ready to tile, pre-sloped, and does not require additional waterproofing on the walls, it eliminates many steps traditional methods require.

Moen |

Lavatory faucets in the Colinet bathroom suite feature rounded, square-bent tube spouts, while decorative flat bands and a flared hub at the base of spouts, handles, and accessories make the suite distinctive. Designed to blend with a variety of aesthetics, the collection offers the option to purchase lavatory faucets with either cross handles or levers in four finishes. A product assortment of matching shower trim, freestanding tub filler, accessories, and lighting is available for a finished look.

LebaTex |

The 2020 Anniversary Designer Collaborations are part of a collection of upholstery and drapery fabric patterns created between the company’s design team and interior designers, including Odysseus by Suomi Design Works (shown). Each pattern is part of LebaTex M.O.D., a custom printed fabric program that allows designers to modify patterns for color and/or scale and print on any LebaTex base cloth.

KB Contract |

Arcade, Sunbrella Contract, is a visual impact pattern ideal for restaurant specifications. Cromwell and Thatcher give the soft breathable, supple hand of a total liquid barrier Supreen product while being environmentally conscious. Woolf and Eliot polyurethanes offer the protection from ink and markers. And, Avery, a PVC, provides the added performance of a coated fabric. All patterns are intended to follow strict cleaning guidelines, emphasizing “Design Versatility with Bleach Cleanability.”

Fabricut Contract |

The Matelassé bedding collection features eight 100 percent polyester matelassé qualities in modern designs. Wide width, machine washable, and dryable for easy maintenance, this collection’s color palettes encompass modern crisp white and gray tones with elegant neutrals and pastels. Custom designs or colors are available at 250-yard minimums.

nanimarquina |

The Flora collaboration with Barcelona artist Santi Moix consists of artist-chosen works that explore the parallelism between life and death through biomorphic flowers. The use of color accentuates certain details, with special attention paid to in-betweens. Flora comprises three different models that capture the beauty of Moix’s flowers: Backyard, Promenade and Bloom (shown). Each canvas is made using a high-quality hand-tufted technique.

Zenith Rugs |

PET custom rug products are derived from post-consumer recycled water bottles. Made from yarn fibers that are naturally stain resistant with no chemical treatments, they retain color, resist fading, and can be cleaned with soap and water. Rugs can be made into any shape in cut-and-loop construction.

Forbo Flooring Systems |

The Allura luxury vinyl tiles collection offers the look of realistic, natural wood and stone floors while giving the advantages of strong and durable vinyl: warm underfoot, sound absorbing, tough and durable, with easy installation and maintenance. Green energy used in production and 100 percent recycling capabilities deliver the most sustainable alternative in LVT.

StyleNations |

Manufactured in Italy, Cristina Celestino designs the Corolla by Billiani collection of armchairs with soft and harmonious shapes. The rounded volumes are lightened by the worked wood base. The wavy line refers to the world of fashion, and the coverings combine contrasting colors and textures from frame to cushioning. The Corolla collection is available in beech or ashwood and features distinctive “onion” feet.

The Kida hanging lounge chair, designed by Stephen Burks, features a cradle-like organic form that’s open, light, and inviting. Wrapped, rather than woven, in DEDON Fiber, once inside users can luxuriate in its comfy cushion. With its organically shaped, powdercoated aluminum frame, the chair is lightweight yet exceptionally sturdy and comes in three striped colorways.

Arhaus |

ACACIUS is handcrafted in Mexico using veneers from reclaimed yucca trees. Metal accents are made from panels of iron left outside to naturally oxidize, giving them a patina. Finishes are weathered and coated with polyurethane for added protection, and individual pieces may vary in color, pattern, shape, and texture, making each unique.

Woodard |

A bit of whimsy, a bit of modern, the Loft chair, in its wide Cocoa weave, will fit with an uncluttered look while still offering a comfortable seating option. The chair is constructed from woven HDPE.

Lloyd Flanders |

The Visions collection is an innovation in Lloyd Loom wicker. Clean lines, moderate-scale seating, and unique side inset panels create a modern silhouette. Pieces in this outdoor collection are constructed from natural fiber wicker and an aluminum frame, and are available in 20 custom finishes.

Out Design Group |

The Jumbo collection features a dining arm chair, lounge chair, highback lounge chair, footstool, and loveseat. The pieces are composed of a wood grain powdercoated aluminum in a light oak or teak finish, colorful rope selections, and loose seat cushions and accent pillows.

Pure + FreeForm |

Light responds to metal in unparalleled ways with 12 new physically textured surfaces. With a focus on pearlescence, texture, fragmentation, and light spread, the Specular collection offers a metal surface that becomes an integral feature of the built environment. This fully customizable series is available in a variety of colors and sizes.

Cambria |

Coordinates by Cambria with Gensler Product Design consists of 14 new designs named after U.S. locations and their identifying characteristics. The collection will be available in high-gloss and Cambria Matte finish, which features a smooth touch and no reflectivity. Available as wall and floor tiles in a variety of sizes and 1-centimeter thickness.

modularArts |

AuralScapes GRG wall panels feature a base of glass reinforced gypsum panel (GRG), with an NFPA 286 Pass certification, Class A. The baffles comprise rigid PET Felt from recycled water and soft drink bottles. Maximum sound absorption is achieved with parabolic ridges cast into the gypsum panels, designed to reflect sound into the absorbent baffles. Panels are available in three distinct topographies and various colors.

Astek |

Botanica Magna includes 10 unique designs, each with three colorways. Grand-scale botanical murals feature immersive environments of towering cacti, larger-than-life flowers, and exaggerated mushrooms, among other fantastical flora. All murals were created by the company’s in-house design team and digitally printed on Type II vinyl substrates.

Wolf-Gordon |

CLAIR, a new PVC-free wallcovering that looks and performs on par with vinyl and is even harder to tear, was slated for debut at BDNY 2020. Featuring 10 textile- and organic-inspired designs that are derived from the beauty of nature, CLAIR transcends aesthetics by considering environmental factors in manufacturing and development.

Momentum Textiles |

Cadence by Magnolia Home by Joanna Gaines Commercial Wallcovering gives the texture of handspun organic yarn that inspires a pattern with modern simplicity. It is a 54-inch-wide Type II wallcovering with a medium scale diamond print. The line is available with a tone-on-tone color palette of three colorways and one high-contrast option with the charcoal colorway.

Faulkner & Locke |

Custom murals, made to fit exact wall dimensions, are printed on Dreamscape to create removable wallpaper. The large-scale palm shadows are inspired by tropical travel posters of the 1940s and updated with a modern color palette. The wallcovering is also available in custom colorways.

Currey & Company |

Rose-colored natural capiz shells turned into blossoms adorn the Catrice Rectangular 15-Light Multi Drop Pendant. The silver pendant is made of wrought iron in a silver leaf finish, and the flower-shaped shell shades emit a soft, rosy light. Also available as a wall sconce and chandelier.

Astro Lighting |

The Capsule Collection Volume 01 focuses on precision and restraint, presenting three designs (the Orb, io, and Halftone) with form and function in mind. Inspired by the mechanical perfection of an orrery, the Orb light, shown here, presents an illuminated spherical ball with a fully adjustable and magnifying mirror that “orbits” around the luminaire at its center.
