Meliá Plans The Grand Reserve
$110M property at Paradisus Palma Real to include first resort for hotelier’s Circle community
Meliá Hotels Intl. has unveiled plans to debut The Grand Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real in the Dominican Republic this December. Designed in the shape of a circle, the $110 million property will feature 288 luxury hotel accommodations, as well as seven F&B concepts, a full-service spa and the hotelier’s first-ever Circle by Meliá resort, an exclusive offering reserved for members of the vacation community that the company launched in 2016.
Ranging from 800 to 3,000-plus sq. ft., one and two-bedroom hotel suites will be home to separate living and dining spaces, freestanding soaking tubs and walk-in showers, private balconies with hydro-massage whirlpool tubs, and outdoor green spaces. Swim-up suites will offer access to a private pool featuring gardens and a solarium. (Circle by Meliá will include 144 luxury accommodations.)
A coastal bar serving ceviche’s, pokes and tartars; a contemporary steakhouse with an open kitchen; an Asian-inspired restaurant offering sushi rolls; and a swanky cigar bar will be among the Punta Cana property’s restaurant and nightlife offerings.
Other resort amenities such as a Beach Club along the Playa de Bavaro; a Circle Studio with fitness equipment and wellness offerings; a Kids Club for hosting educational programming and dance and yoga classes; an Aqua Park decked out with water slides and aquatic games; and The Grand Reserve Spa by Natura Bissé, which will house 14 treatment rooms and a relaxation space, are in the plans. Additionally Grand Reserve guests will have access to on-site facilities and services at The Reserve boutique resort and the all-inclusive Paradisus Palma Real.
Continuing to ramp up its investment in the region, Meliá Hotels Intl. is also transforming its Meliá Caribe Tropical destination into two separate properties: the adults-only Meliá Punta Cana Beach Resort and the family-friendly Meliá Caribe Beach Resort. That project is slated to be completed by November.
