Kimpton has announced its newest hotel, occupying the iconic 1941 National Guard Armory in the heart of downtown Bozeman. The transformation of the landmarked building into its new chapter as a boutique hotel was completed Kyle Dornberger with locally based Venue Architects.
The armory’s design, including a new tower, reflects the nature of Montana’s Rocky Mountains, with interiors reflecting the Art Deco exterior with its clean lines and a chevron design.
Organic materials, handcrafted details, rich textures, and local artwork create a feeling of warmth, comfort, and conviviality, while breathtaking panoramas highlight the beauty of the outdoors.
The hotel’s 122 guestrooms were completed by Colorado-based Studio R Interiors in partnership with Kimpton’s design team and feature a handsome expression of the mountain modern aesthetic. Furniture and decor is accented with traditional western materials like leather, wool, and metal.
The three dining and entertainment experiences, along with the Armory Music Hall were designed by Brooklyn-based MARKZEFF. The ground level restaurant, Fielding’s, features fine craftsmanship and sleek leather banquettes; the basement bar, Tune Up, features regular live music; and the rooftop-bar Sky Shed, is a glass-enclosed bar with sweeping views.
