In a historic building in the heart of Florence, Ruby will open a new hotel with 118 rooms along with a Ruby Workspace together with GB Holding Group.
The hotel is being built in a historic building from the 19th century and, in addition to the typical Florentine arcades on the ground floor, offers high ceilings, allowing for some of the rooms to be designed as maisonettes, a first for Ruby. The renovation of the historic building is under the direction of Florentine architects Genius Loci Architettura, with the interior design by Ruby’s design team, led by Matthew Balon.
The building that will be leased to the Ruby Group is owned by the GB Holding Group, a real estate investor active on the Italian market, who will contribute toward the refurbishments. The hotel is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2023.
