The new 31-room Humbird hotel is gearing up for its winter debut. Nestled against the slopes at Schweitzer in northern Idaho’s panhandle, Humbird will be the first boutique hotel in the area, providing a new ski-in/ski-out lodging experience when exploring the resort’s 2,900 acres of skiable terrain.
The three-story hotel, located in the heart of Schweitzer’s intimate village, will consist of 31 guestrooms with a mix of room types, including single king rooms, double queen rooms, and one oversized suite. Representing the next evolution in modern architecture and design, Humbird is the vision of Portland-based Skylab Architecture. The property was built using cross laminated timber with exposed wood and structural elements that highlight the region’s connection to the natural surroundings.
Humbird will also offer an onsite restaurant and bar, Crow’s Bench (shown), as well as a fitness center, coworking space, and heated ski lockers/storage. Humbird is part of the resort’s multi-year master plan launched in 2017.
