IHG Hotels & Resorts announced that the first Atwell Suites hotel is now under construction in Miami. Expected to open by summer 2021, the 90-room hotel will be located in Brickell, an urban neighborhood home to Miami and South Florida’s financial district. The hotel is part of a new high-rise, mixed-use property that will also include a new 140-room Hotel Indigo Miami Brickell. This property is owned by Francisco Arocha, Pedro F. Villar, Albert Ovadia, and Sunview Companies.
“The Common” at Atwell Suites is dynamic space on the second floor lobby inspired by coworking lounges providing a place for guests to work and relax.
Atwell Suites is IHG’s newest brand, introduced in 2019 as a design-led, all-suites hotel brand optimized for longer stays of up to six nights. The brand has 20 properties now under planning and development across the U.S., in markets such as Austin, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; Denver; and Phoenix. Construction is expected to begin on additional Atwell Suites properties in the coming months.
“The Study” at Atwell Suites is a bookable meeting room that is tech-enabled with everything needed for a productive meeting.
The company has also released a variety of new renderings showcasing the design of the Atwell Suites brand including the main lobby space meant to bring people together around the breakfast area, lounge and bar; the Common (a space on the second floor lobby inspired by coworking lounges); and the Study (a bookable meeting room that is tech-enabled with everything needed for a productive meeting).
