Oakland, California-based architecture and interior design firm Arcsine has announced the completion of BE.STÉAK.Ă, an elevated yet approachable Italian steakhouse in Campbell, California. Named in homage to Bistecca alla Fiorentina, a traditional Florentine dish, BE.STÉAK.Ă is helmed by Bay Area-native and renowned chef Jeffrey Stout.
The 185-seat space includes a main dining room and bar with associated dining space, two private dining rooms, and two patios accessible from both the main dining space and the private dining rooms. BE.STÉAK.Ă celebrates the culinary arts by highlighting the inherent juxtaposition of the raw and refined, as well as the focus on tactile and textured components. Details throughout the space create points of connection and the joining of unexpected materials and textures to form a cohesive aesthetic.
A newly renovated exterior gives way to the clean, minimal feel of the entry, adorned with pendant lighting by Hennepinmade, and a custom outsized Chitarra (a special pasta cutting tool) in the hallway leading to a large kitchen-view window from which to watch handmade pasta being made and a full view of the working kitchen. The color scheme varies from room to room, but overall features a neutral Italian coastal palate, with shades of white, blue, charcoal gray, copper, and terra cotta, complementing the light walnut features.
