Designed by //3877, Cracked Eggery is a new fast-casual restaurant set to open later this year in Washington DC’s Shaw neighborhood.
The design centers on efficiency—providing Shaw and its inhabitants with a restaurant that delivers not only delicious egg sandwiches, but also celebrates the local culture of the neighborhood. Starting with the colorful yellow backdrop of the kitchen space, //3877 has playfully incorporated the egg theme throughout the interiors, with features such as cracked egg graphics, a custom graphic wall, and egg-inspired light fixtures designed by JVA.
Key design elements include the curved ordering counter, offset by the floating, partial-height wall and bar stool area, and the banquette seating. Expansive high ceilings are scaled by a retail canopy that mimics the shape of the order counter. A future green wall at the retail canopy will guide the eye upward, from the low-hanging menu, toward the retro, marquee-style lit signage. Thoughtful and purposeful, the design scheme prioritizes sustainable materials that align with the sustainable ingredients found on the menu.
