The 226-room Kimpton Harper Hotel will debut in downtown Fort Worth, Texas, in early June. Development Services Group, Inc., based in Memphis, Tennessee, acquired the architectural landmark near Sundance Square from XTO Energy and oversaw the adaptive reuse to convert it from an office building into the hotel.
Originally built in 1921 in the heart of downtown Fort Worth as the headquarters for Farmer’s and Mechanics Bank, the reimagining of this building coincides with the 100th anniversary of its original completion. The Harper Hotel is managed by Pivot, the lifestyle operating vertical of Davidson Hospitality Group.
Designer Cynthia Forchielli of Forchielli Glynn blends relaxed yet sophisticated design to every room, including handcrafted furniture, thoughtful details, brass pendant lights, woven baskets, and lively local art. Additionally, guests can find subtle nods to Fort Worth’s history, such as a panther figurine referencing the Panther City nickname, which greets guests upon opening the room closet.
