Boutique Design Events and Trade Fairs

Ark-shelter, a studio specialized in modular architecture, designed and built a cluster of forest apartments and spa for Hotel Bjornson in Low Tatras mountain of Slovakia.

Prefabricated modules are placed respectfully between the trees, raised from the ground and covered with green roofs, allowing the landscape to continuously flow under, around, and above them. The apartment design was based on the owner’s idea of the outer shell, one sided orientation and views, that had to fit quite a large area. All buildings/cottages comprise two independent modules, each with its own independent apartment consisting of a bedroom-living room, children’s room, entry hall, and a bathroom. Each of these two separately functioning units can be connected into one by sliding the partitioning wall of the living rooms.
