Stockyards Heritage Development Company, a partnership between Majestic Realty Co. and The Hickman Cos., is the developer of the project. They will also own the 200-room, Hotel Drover, Autograph Collection, which will anchor the mixed-use project and open in the spring of 2020.

The property’s design will draw on local history and culture.  The hotel will feature 15,000 sq. ft. of meeting space as well as a chic barn to hold weddings and other events.

The hotel’s name honors drovers who herded cattle along the Chisholm Trail to market in Fort Worth, and their story will be threaded throughout the design of public spaces and guestrooms. A café and lounge will span the hotel’s front courtyard that features a rustic fountain. The lobby will frame views of the backyard that offers fire pits, a pool and paths that lead to nearby Marine Creek. A library, fireplace and custom furniture and fixtures will ground the lobby with a residential feel. The hotel’s eatery, 97 West Kitchen and Bar, will showcase regional food inspired by ranch houses.

The $175 million project includes a renovation of the historic stockyards, which date back to the 1890s, as well as ground-up development. In addition to the hotel, tenants will include: Second Rodeo Brewing Co. from Chef Jason Boso; a concept yet to be determined from Chef Marcus Paslay; Shake Shack; MB Mercantile & Supply; and RFD HQ and STUDIOS.
