Architect firm Dexter Moren Associates has been chosen to convert a Norfolk Plaza Hotel in London into an 87-room, 4-star hotel. The company will handle both the architecture and interior design. Kulkoni Import + Export GMBH is the owner.
The building was originally converted into a hotel in the 1970s from three townhouses. The new design plans call for a reconfiguration of the interior layout, while the exterior design will respect the history of the surrounding Norfolk Square, which comprises a front garden and Edwardian buildings. As such, the entrance canopy and doors of the hotel are being modified to complement the existing façade.
The hotel will also include a multifunctional lobby with self-service and retail areas inspired by co-working lounges. Work is planned to start on the renovation in the third quarter of this year.
