Boutique Design Events and Trade Fairs

You can give me a few dozen reasons why you really don’t have time to fill out the entry form for the 2019 Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design. And, they’re all valid. I’ve been trying to get to this blog done since I logged on this morning, and it’s already 4:20 PM and counting. So, I get just how serious everyone’s time crunch is.

But Gold Key is worth the midnight oil. For 39 years, this award has celebrated hospitality designers doing the best work on projects at all price points, in all sectors and in countries around the globe. You already know how good your firm’s work is.

You know how talented your team is and how much of themselves they pour into their projects. Winning a Gold Key award—or even making the finals—gives designers the recognition they deserve for their creativity and professional innovation. It also gives them something tangible that tells everyone who worked on a project and both current and prospective clients that validates them as best in class.

Another motivator? Entering Gold Key gets your work in front of some of the most prestigious clients in the business. This year’s judging panel includes:

Andrew Alford, chief creative officer, Graduate Hotels

Mary Beth Cutshall, senior vice president and chief business development officer, Hospitality Ventures Management Group

Gary Dollens, global head design/product & brand development, Hyatt Hotels Corp.

Michael Doneff, chief marketing officer, ThinkFoodGroup

Simon Turner, managing member, Alpha Lodging Partners, LLC

Add to all this the chance to be in the spotlight at the Gold Key gala capping off 2019’s Boutique Design New York trade fair and conference. Finalists will be showcased and winners will be announced at a gala Nov. 11 in New York.
