BraytonHughes Design Studios has unveiled design details of The Glen at Scripps Ranch, a master planned senior living community in San Diego. The Glen at Scripps Ranch Continuing Life® retirement community is a place where residents will have access to assisted living, memory care, and long-term care in skilled nursing, should the need arise.
The design at The Glen at Scripps Ranch leverages hospitality and residential principles to create comfortable spaces with a sense of approachable luxury. Through a holistic approach addressing mental, emotional, and spiritual health, the design also creates a strong sense of place to give residents a sense of purpose and belonging.
The property’s locale inspired the site-specific architectural design by KTGY, which led site planning and concept design for the entire property. Buildings feature Mission style architecture across the entire campus, with distinct detailing in the independent living villas and apartments. In designing the interiors for the public areas, including The Commons Building, Pool House, and circulation and public spaces in the Residential Living Units Building, BraytonHughes blended approachable luxury with a nod to the surrounding area and incorporated contemporary interpretations of classic elements inspired by the local California Spanish Colonial style. The interiors bring a fresh approach to the Mission style, with contrasted lightly colored walls and warm-toned wood, and custom Spanish Revival inspired carpets with a timeless influence. The color palette features warm golds and blues, exuding serenity and a sense of wellbeing while calling to mind the region’s expansive blue skies and ocean.
