AHLA Promotes, Hires
Troy Flanagan promoted to svp
Several people have been promoted or added to the team of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA).
Troy Flanagan was promoted to senior vice president of government affairs and industry relations. He brings more than 15 years of experience to the role as a policy advocate. He joined AHLA in 2014, and he was previously a partner at Parquet Public Affairs, where he represented numerous service industry brands and trade associations. Prior to that, he served in government relations roles at International Franchise Association, ConAgra Foods Inc. and the Grocery Manufacturers Association.
Brian Crawford was promoted to executive vice president of government affairs, while Rosanna Maietta was promoted to executive vice president of communications. Maietta also serves as president of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Foundation. Crawford and Maietta, along with chief operating officer Kevin Carey, comprise the senior leadership of AHLA.
Maura Morton joined AHLA in January as senior director of communications. She joins the association from Linda Roth Associates Inc., a D.C.-based hospitality public relations firm. She previously worked in internal communications for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
Jaymes Best and Madeline Lee have both been promoted to senior managers of government affairs. Best was previously an intern for Congressman Austin Scott. Lee joined AHLA in 2015 after serving as an intern and staff assistant for Congressman Scott Peters.
Michelle Morenza has been promoted to communications manager. Morenza joined AHLA as a communications coordinator in 2017. She previously served as a public relations and social media coordinator at AIC Hotel Group.
Olivia Klipa was promoted to director of conventions and events. She has been at AHLA since 2016. She previously spent nearly four years at The Webster Group, most recently as associate director.
