Renaissance Atlanta Unveils Refresh
Studio 11 Design led the renovation
Studio 11 Design has completed renovations of the Renaissance Atlanta Midtown Hotel’s lobby, meeting rooms, fitness center and guestrooms. The refreshed spaces have an upscale, bespoke look, with a nod to Midtown Atlanta’s tech boom and art scene. The hotel is managed by Denver-based Sage Hospitality and owned by Carey Watermark Investors 2 Inc.
The design team mixed throwback art pieces with tech elements to create a bold aesthetic throughout the public spaces. Concrete materials and neutral colors pay homage to the neighborhood’s industrial past. These elements are juxtaposed with quirky accents such as repurposed cassette tapes and floppy disks in vibrant colors. The new lobby offers a transition between the check-in space and the property’s restaurant, the Community Smith.
The hotel’s renewed guestrooms offer something unexpected: a trail of blue paint up the wall and onto the ceiling, fixed to the artist’s paintbrush. In addition to fresh guestrooms, the hotel’s 15,000 sq. ft. of meeting space has been updated.
“This is one of my favorite design combinations—sophisticated meets quirky,” says Alison Schulze, a principal designer at Studio 11 Design. “It’s an elevated space that invites guests and visitors to embrace a bit of whimsy.”
