Boutique Design

New York City-based Emily Frantz Design has collaborated with husband-and-wife owners Craig and Samantha Cordts-Pearce to design the newly opened Steakhouse No. 316 in Boulder, Colorado. Set in an early 1900s building, which once housed the historic Conor O'Neill's, the space has been refurbished from the ground up.

The 120-seat restaurant features a boudoir-inspired space that opens with a front lounge of reds, a sweeping Carrara marble bar, curved black banquettes in crushed red velvet, and a large fireplace that anchors the dining room. The black lacquered walls showcase upholstered damask panels, taxidermy and vintage artwork depicting past presidents and mid-century starlets. A custom wrought-iron sconce models an early 20th-century elevator shaft. Meanwhile, tufted velvet chairs sit alongside mirrored cocktail tables in the lounge.
