New 326-cabin hotel to open in June
YOTEL is expanding in the U.S. with plans to open its second location in the country, in Boston’s Seaport District in June. Currently under construction, the 326-key hotel is being designed by Cullen West Interiors of Dallas to reflect the London-based brand’s value-centric luxury vibe, with oversized open social spaces and such digital features as an airline-style, self-service check in.

Like the brand’s New York property, YOTEL Boston will feature the flag’s signature cabin guest room concept, which project participants say incorporates elements synonymous with luxury hotels into compact spaces. Accommodations will feature the brand’s SmartBeds, adjustable mood lighting and monsoon rain showers.

Plans for the property—which is owned by Wheelock Street Capital affiliates and being developed by Boston Global Investors (the master developer behind the nearby Seaport Square development)—also include a 12th-floor rooftop terrace equipped with a bar and restaurant and indoor/outdoor seating.

The news follows the announcement of upcoming YOTEL properties in San Francisco (2017), Miami (2019) and Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood (2019), as well in Singapore (2017), at the Singapore Changi Airport (2019) and in Dubai’s Business Bay district (2019).
