Five-star hotel on Majorca features themed suites
IBEROSTAR Hotels & Resorts has debuted a new hotel on Spain’s Majorca island. High-profile Dutch designer Marcel Wanders created the 66-key, five-star property’s look, including its themed suites. (Wanders’ design for Mondrian Doha was profiled in Boutique Design’s April edition.) The luxury property is the hotelier’s first in the Mediterranean to be included in its Grand Collection premium category.

The hotel’s accommodations include four double penthouses, each of which features a private terrace and Jacuzzi tub, as well as five themed concepts: two Naughty Suites, the Stargazer Suite, the Games Suite, the Heritage Suite and the Spa Suite. The gamer-focused accommodation features a pinball machine, foosball table, video game console and a putting green on its terrace, while the Heritage Suite is home to art and antiques.

Wanders also designed the F&B concepts at IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel Portals Nous, including four venues serving locally sourced organic cuisine. The hotel’s dining outlets are comprised of the Astir gourmet restaurant, the Selini lobby bar and the Dom Pérignon champagne bar.
Founded by the Fluxà family in 1986, IBEROSTAR Hotels is a resort chain based in Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Spain). The brand is part of Spanish tourism company GRUPO IBEROSTAR, which has 100 hotels in 17 countries.
