Eduardo Bartolomeo has been named ceo of Brazil Hospitality Group. He previously worked for Vale S.A. and AmBev.

Chris Hamer has been promoted to associate of Aria Group Architects Inc.

Martin Lynch has been hired as executive vice president of operations for Xicato, a provider of LED modules for hospitality, retail and specialty lighting environments.

Catherine Macfee, founder of her namesake interior design firm, has entered a partnership with Justine Macfee, a former design associate trained at the California College of the Arts.


Maurice Jerome (Jerry) Karlin, former president and chairman of Nemo Tile Co., has died. He was 88.


Omni Hotels & Resorts is partnering with USA Place LLC, to develop a new Omni hotel in downtown Tempe, Ariz. The 330-key luxury hotel be part of USA Place, a mixed-use urban district that will be home to USA Basketball’s national headquarters, Arizona Interscholastic Association events, a 4,500-seat multipurpose events center, 500 luxury apartments, 160,000 square feet of retail and up to 200,000 square feet of office space.

A dual Courtyard by Marriott/Residence Inn hotel has opened in Syracuse, N.Y., offering 102 and 78 rooms, respectively. The property is operated by New Castle Hotels and Resorts with RHS Holdings LLC.

Hyatt Hotels Corp. has opened the 108-key Park Hyatt Siem Reap, designed by Bill Bensley. The property, formerly the Hotel De La Paix, is Hyatt’s first site in Cambodia.


LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has acquired Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France from majority owner Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners and others. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Castle Resorts & Hotels has added Paki Maui in Hawaii to its management portfolio. The company operates 22 hotels in Hawaii and New Zealand.

Island Hospitality will operate the 178-room Hyatt Place in Pittsburgh/North Shore, Pa., which was acquired earlier this year by Chatham Lodging Trust.

Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG has acquired hotels in Amberg, Wuppertal and Coburg, Germany, doubling its presence in that country.

Peachtree Hotel Group acquired seven hotels for a total of invested $50 million during the second quarter of 2013.

The 300-key Riverside Hotel in Boise, Idaho, has joined Red Lion’s Leo Hotel Collection following a $2 million renovation.


Interior Image Group has been approved to be listed as an interior design consultant for Hilton Worldwide’s focused service hotel remodeling and new construction projects in the U.S

Extra Mile Procurement has been awarded the contract to furnish a 254-room Aloft hotel in Atlanta, which is undergoing a $25 million renovation. Extra Mile is working with Blackdog Studio on the project.


Outdoor furniture manufacturer Brown Jordan and designer Richard Frinier have won a Good Design Award for Cloud Nine, their indoor/outdoor furniture collection. The award program is sponsored by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
