Queensgate taps former Penta execs
Queensgate Investments has hired Alastair Thomann as ceo and Andre Guettouche as chief operating officer of Generator Hostels. The announcement follows London-based Queensgate closing its previously announced acquisition of the design-forward hotelier.
Thomann was formerly ceo of Penta Hotels, while Guettouche was most recently that lifestyle hotel company’s senior vice president. Prior to Penta, Guettouche held senior leadership positions at InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG).
The hiring of Thomann and Guettouche follows the exit of previous ceo Fredrik Korallus, a development reported earlier this week by Skift. “As a consequence of the transaction, I have stepped down,” Korallus told the travel news website. “The big thing for me was to help Patron divest of Generator. It was an astronomical price of $480 million that was achieved.”
Another source told Skift that in addition to Korallus’ resignation, Generator chief financial officer Paul Harries was asked to leave.
