While products bearing bold hues are still on the scene, more subtle shades are also on the rise. Two examples of the latter trend are a silk rug line that borrows airy inspiration from New York-based artist Joe Ginsberg’s watercolor painting and a furniture collection featuring an ombré effect, where color subtly shifts from light to dark. But bold shades continue to make their presence felt, as well, as evidenced in a collection of painted doors that turn entryways into beautiful gallery spaces and light bulb-shaped LED fixtures that wash indoor or outdoor spaces with colored light. Whether you tone it down or turn it up, color is key. —Megan Krause
