Brazil Hospitality Group is partnering with AccorHotels to reflag and manage 26 properties with a total of 4,400 keys in that South American country. The French hotelier is paying $64.2 million for the deal, which is slated to be completed by year end, pending approval by the Brazilian government. The portfolio includes hotels in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Pará, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, Bahia, Minas Gerais and Maranhão, among others. The hotels’ repositioning will take by the end of 2019, and the hotels will operate under AccorHotels’ ibis, ibis Styles, ibis Budget, Mercure, Novotel, Mama Shelter, MGallery and Pullman brands.
Multidisciplinary architecture/design firm Ware Malcomb announced six leadership promotions (shown in the image below) within the Irvine, California-based firm.

Karim Sayani has joined pentahotels as head of sales U.K. Sayani has nearly 20 years of experience in that country’s hospitality market.

Great Wolf Resorts Inc. has hired Scott Wilson as the company’s first chief commercial officer. Wilson joins Great Wolf Resorts from United Airlines, where he was vice president of merchandising and eCommerce.
Floorcovering company Couristan Inc. has hired Michael Riley as president. He most recently served as president of Oriental Weavers USA and will be based at Couristan’s headquarters in Ft. Lee, New Jersey.

Address Hotels + Resorts, the luxury hotel brand of Emaar Hospitality Group, recently debuted the Address Boulevard lifestyle resort in downtown Dubai. The interiors for 196-key hotel are by Hirsch Bender Associates (HBA). Also on tap at the property are 532 serviced apartments.

A Hyatt Hotels Corp. affiliate has entered into a management agreement with CTF BM Operations Ltd. to operate the 1,800-key Grand Hyatt Baha Mar hotel, the Baha Mar Convention Center and a several restaurants, bars and lounges—all of which will be part of the mixed-use Baha Mar Resort on New Providence Island in the Bahamas. The resort will open in phases, with initial operations at the hotel slated to begin in late April.

Studio Twist is celebrating its five-year anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the company is sponsoring the Anniversary Design Contest, for which the winning design will be produced and shown at BDNY 2017 this fall. Further details about the competition will be announced at the BDwest trade fair/conference in Los Angeles in April. The manufacturer of knitted blankets, throws, bed scarves and pillows was founded and is led by Michelle Wildenhaus, who was a panelist for the 2016 BDNY Power Players: Women Leaders in Hospitality Breakfast and Panel Discussion.
